Alright your home town Vernon Vipers won both their games over the weekend and a lot of fans were not there to see the games!! I know it may still be nice outside BUT...come out and support your team! We should have a sold out arena every night....we are ranked the best team in Canada and this weekend we have some very important hard games and we need to hear you in the stands!!
On Saturday we will host the Penticton Vees...and all they ever do is talk about how much they hate us and they think they have a better team then us this year...and the Burnaby Express will be here Sunday afternoon...and they have only lost one game and it was in overtime!!!! The Vipers are playing there hardest and have yet to loose a game this year and they want to show their town how hard they are working but you need to get a ticket to see just how great they are!!!
Lets show the Vees and the Express that we have the best fans in the league and I will be ready to give away more prizes in the stands the more they are filled!!
Tell your friends, your neighbours, your family, you teachers, the people you see on the street....tell everyone to come out to the games this weekend!
AND after the game on Sunday there is a FREE skate with the Vipers!!!!
Helloooo Vipers Fanssss!!!!!!
Vipers Take Down Smoke Eaters
The Vipers had another home and home series this weekend...this time with the Trail Smoke Eaters. On Friday night the Vipers took an early lead and won the game 7-1, all players contributed to the win in Trail but Cory Kane was the top performer...scoring a hat trick in the first period!
The Vipes then came back to Vernon for a Saturday night game and Trail mixed up there lines and tried some new plays which seemed to work through the first two periods of play as they were only trailing by 1 goal. The 3rd period started 2-1 for the Vipers and ended 5-1 after the last twenty minutes of play. Trail battled hard and was robbed a lot by Vipers netminder Graeme Gordon.
The Vipers will have 2 home games this weekend and I expect A LOT more people to come out to the games and cheer on the Vipers! We host Quesnel on Friday (who over the weekend lost in overtime to the Silverbacks) and Williams Lake on Saturday night.

Q&A With Assistant Coach Jason Williamson
I would have to say we are happy with our start. We have a few things to work on, tweak our systems a bit and get our work ethic up to consistently high level. Obviously when you open the season with 2 wins you cant complain to much.
Does winning the RBC Cup last season help you for the upcoming season?
It always exciting and what every team in the country is shooting for but only 1 of the 143 gets to do, so that obviously helps. Also with team success comes individual success and with that we had some players move on to the next level leaving some big holes to fill. That`s always tough, but winning makes recruiting easier and I think we have done a good job filling those holes and are hoping to be able to be playing hockey in May again this season.
How important is it that you have so many veterans back?
Its huge for us. We are going to lean on our veterans to show our younger and new players what we want to be. They know what it takes to win. This is where the good kind of peer pressure comes in. They can pressure the players into being relentless on the ice by just doing it and holding everyone accountable for their efforts.
How are the newest players fitting in?
I think we have a great bunch of players and people. Our new players have come in and been very good. They have fit in well.
Looking through other teams websites, the phrase "hated Vernon Vipers" seems to be a common theme, how does this effect the Vernon Vipers?
I think this comes with winning and everybody wanting to knock you off. Even going back to when I played here, you never get a night off playing for the Vipers. Teams always bring there A game when they are play us. I think this is a great thing for us. Our players have to be ready to play each and every night. This will prepare them well for the playoffs and they will be ready for those games which mean the most.
What should fans look forward to seeing this year from the Vernon Vipers?
A fast paced and exciting team. We are a very deep team that can roll all four lines and keep coming at teams with our team speed each and every night.
Welcome Back To A New Season!
I can't believe that the 2009/2010 Hockey Season is here already!!! I am so excited to get back into the swing of things..and since last years success the Vernon Vipers are now the winning-est team EVER in Canadian Junior A Hockey!!! So Vipers fans you have a lot to be proud of and the Vipers love to see you at every home game cheering them on!
So whats new here in my world you ask...well I had a great summer vacation, but mainly counted down the days to the Vipers home opener that took place last Friday. It was such a great game but to see that 5th National Banner going to the top of the rafters in the arena....WOW...what a great feeling! And the fans were so loud and emotional! But now its a new season and the slates are swiped clean and everyone is gunning' to take down the Vipers!
The next home game is this Saturday against the Trail Smoke Eaters, they always seem to come out hard when they face the snakes and I am sure this year won't be any different! I hope to see just as many fans out for home game number 2 as there was for the home opener!! So far the Vipers have taken there first 2 games, both against Salmon Arm...but it's early and you never know what is going to happen!
Oh and don't forget, the Vipers Den has all new merchandise including a Championship T-shirt and Hat...a great way to show other people that you cheer for the 5 Time National Champions!!!
Hope to see you at the game this Saturday and check back often for updates, players interviews, pictures and prizes!!!
Here's to a great 2009/2010 Season!!
