With first place on the line the Vipers will host the Silverbacks and you know both teams want this win...but who wants in more!!!! Seats are selling fast but there are still seats left and I know you don't want to be the only one who didn't see the game!!! Our Vipers head to Trail on Friday night and the Silverbacks have Friday night off so you know the Backs will be well rested and Vernon will have to try to get a few hours of sleep in on their big bus trip home! All Star Game was awesome!! I got to play some soccer-hockey at the start of the game with some of my friend. Grizz from Victoria, The General from Westside and Kong from Salmon Arm! We were all hanging out on Wednesday night because of the BCHL All Star Game! The best of the best in the BCHL came out to showcase their talent it what turned out to be a very lop-sided game, Interior losing 13-5 and in the intermissions a great show for the fans as the teams picked some players to compete in the skills competition...WOW are these guys good! My favorite was seeing Langley's Derek Grant show off some amazing moves, and he won crowd favorite for best move...he spun, he twisted and he even went backwards through his legs...all amazing. A lot of the players were telling me they were having a blast and that they were all honored to be in Vernon at the All Star Game.

Now the Vipers get back to regular action as they face the Nanaimo Clippers on Friday night...I am still waiting to see a full house so tell every one you know and cheer on your favorite team in the league...THE VERNON VIPERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome Back!

I know it has been awhile since my last post, I guess I ate too much over the holidays and now I catch my self behind all the time! The Vipers are back at it in 2009 playing some great hockey and keeping all their fans entertained! A lot of fans took advantage of some international hockey this past Sunday! Team Sweden was in Vernon for a Sunday afternoon game and it was so great to see them come in for a game. The Vipers gave all the players on Team Sweden a gift to thank them for coming and to have a momentum of their time here in Vernon. Also a very cool plaque was given to the team manager with a nice picture of Kal Lake and the Vipers puck, thanks Pic Plaques for that!! So now is the crazy time of year as trade deadline come close, some teams look to make a few moves to get them closer to the RBC and some teams look to better themselves for next year. Either way it leave players from all teams a little uneasy as you never know who may go! No word yet in the Vipers Office if there will be any moves but I will try to keep you posted. Next up is a home game against Merritt on Friday. Even though Merritt isn't at the top of the standings it will be a good game to see as every team now is not only fighting to either stay on their team or get traded to another team...it is a battle to get points and finish the regular season in a playoff spot! Merritt's top defenceman is their goalie and sometimes that's all you need to get you a win. In fact Harrison May is one of the three goalies that will be playing for the Interior All Star team on January 14th right here in Vernon. This is a great chance for fans to see some unbelievable talent as well as potential NHL stars of tomorrow! I know there are tickets available so go get them!!! You will also see me there along side all my buddies from around the league...each team will be inviting their mascots to the All Star event so I am very excited to see them!! One More Game Before The Holidays!

The Vipers have one more home game before the Christmas Holidays and it takes place on December 19th against the Salmon Arm Silverbacks!! It is going to be soooo exciting! And before the Vipers close their office for the holidays get in and get your tickets for the game against Sweden and the 2009 All Star Game! Make sure you have these two games on your wish list!! Tickets are selling fast and you know both are going to be awesome and I can't wait to show off our fans to the rest of the BCHL fans! TEDDY BEAR TOSS NIGHT!!!!!!

My favorite night of the year is here! On Friday night when we host the Vees we will also have our annual Teddy Bear Toss!!!! Everyone is encouraged to bring a stuffed animal to the game on Friday and when the Vipers get their first goal everyone tosses their bears on the ice!!! The stuffed animals will be taken away by KISS FM who will in turn get them to the Salvation Army Vernon and kids who need them the most!

THEN on Sunday we host Quesnel which means another FREE skate after the game with the Vipers!!!! What a great weekend! I hope to see everyone here and don't forget to head to McDonald's on Mondays to meet some Vipers and get their trading cards!!!

CAPITALS ARE IN TOWN!!!!!

The Cowichan Valley Capitals will be in Vernon on Friday night, the Vipers only face this Island team once this year and it is going to be a good one! Safeway will be in the building and during the first intermission we will be doing the annual Turkey Toss!!! Every fan will have a chance at making their best paper airplane and you will throw it on the ice and try to land your plane as close as you can to one of the Turkeys! Another important date coming up is December 5th....TEDDY BEAR TOSS NIGHT! One of my favorite home games...we will also be collecting non-perishable food items on the 5th, 7th and 9th and on the 7th it's another Family Sunday game which means more FREE skating with the Vipers after the game all sponsored by Tim Horton's! Pheww, there is a lot going on in the next couple weeks....Oh! I almost forgot! McDonald's Trading Cards are in and every Monday you can meet a couple of the Vipers and get their cards ALL FOR FREE!!!! Check the Vipers website for the upcoming schedule! Well that's about it for now! I am going to watch the Vipers practice...looking forward to seeing all you Vipers fans this weekend!

Vipers Host Merritt

The Vernon Vipers had an awesome weekend winning 2 of their 3 games...4-1 over Westside and and an awesome 4-0 win at home against Quesnel. Now the Vipers will host Merritt on Friday and it is a very special night as we are raising money for the BC Children's Hospital. Save On Foods will host a Hot Dog & Pop Sale and be selling popcorn with ALL proceeds going to BC Children's Hospital! There will also be some games set up in the concourse where everyone can try to win some great prizes! The game is also sponsored by The Home Depot and presented by Vantage One so we will have a lot of great sponsors here and we hope to keep packing the pit with the greatest fans EVER!

Don't forget the Vipers Trading cards are in! Head to McDonald's every Monday to meet players and get their cards and the RCMP will also have cards, so if you happen to see any Vernon RCMP Officers, ask if they happen to have any Vipers Card on them.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone this Friday...and I heard there are only 2 seats left on the fan bus to Penticton on Saturday so thank you fans for filling the bus and cheering on your Vipers while they are on the road, if you want to take the last seats call the Vipers Office at 542-6022!
